…I would like to congratulate you and your team, the auction was very well organized and I would be happy to bid at more of your auctions in the future.

The most common type of business asset valuation we provide is on the basis of Market Value defined by our professional body, the RICS, as the estimated amount for which an asset or liability should exchange on the valuation date between a willing buyer and a willing seller in an arm’s length transaction after proper marketing and where the parties had each acted knowledgeably, prudently and without compulsion . This can be for either collateral purposes, business asset sales / purchases, or for insolvency practitioners.

If one is considering selling any equipment, or purchasing second hand plant & machinery, it is always wise to obtain a professional market valuation in order to protect one from being on the wrong end of a shrewd negotiation. Insolvency practitioners are probably the most common users of professional valuation services, and unlike solvent companies which primarily have a duty to their shareholders, insolvency practitioners have a wider duty to an insolvent company’s creditors to make sure that the assets are valued and sold by professional agents. Insolvency practitioners therefore have a duty to employ the services of RICS Registered Valuers who are qualified and hold professional indemnity insurance.
